Queensland Biosecurity visit with our Bama and Agricultural Producers

We had a very busy week introducing our Queensland Government DAF Biosecurity Officers to our local Community, Indigenous and Non Indigenous Agricultural Horticultural Producers and graziers in our South East Cape York. It was received very enthusiastically by everyone we visited. Very important questions about our Bio-security Preparedness, Biosecurity services and help for our Industries, were asked. Officers answered with all of there experiences and knowledge on display. A big out come was that our Producer not only extremely grateful, but would like these visits to become regular over the long term. We are largely forgotten about in Cape York, and would like to expand these sorts of services throughout the entire Cape. It was frequently mentioned that a lot of the funding failed to get on to the ground where it would do the most good. A lot of resources are used by people coming from elsewhere, not utilizing our local skilled people, especially farmers and Bama. Check out our gallery of Photos from the trip.
